I took part in an Erasmus program in Galway, Ireland. It was my first time travelling abroad and staying away from home for more than a week. At the beginning, I felt a bit scared, but also very happy and curious.

Galway is a small city with many young people, students, and tourists from all over the world. The city feels very open and welcoming; people are friendly and often start talking to you, even if they do not know you. This helped me feel comfortable and less afraid of speaking English.

During my stay, I worked at the Eyre Square Shopping Centre, one of the most important locations in the city. I worked for a company called Fonez, which repairs and sells used mobile phones. The company gives a second life to old phones, which helps the environment. At work, I learned how to behave in a professional environment and how to respect rules and schedules.

I spoke English every day with my colleagues, the manager, and the customers. At first, it was difficult, but day by day it became easier. This helped me improve my English and increase my self-confidence. I also learned how important communication and teamwork are in a job.

Living far from home taught me many things, such as how to organize my day, manage my time, and solve small problems by myself. I became more independent and responsible.

In my free time, I visited the city and discovered new places. One of my favourite spots was Salthill, a seaside area near Galway. We could walk near the ocean and enjoy the view. We also visited the Cliffs of Moher with our teacher. They are very high cliffs above the ocean; the landscape was incredible and unforgettable.

This Erasmus experience was very important for me. I learned new skills, met new people, and discovered a new culture. It helped me grow as a person, and I will always remember this experience as one of the most beautiful moments of my school life.
